Pulpcon 35: More photos from Saturday

Pulpcon was over for me about 45 minutes after midnight Saturday. The Pulpcon suite in the hotel was going strong, but I had to get to sleep to get up by 5:30 a.m. and get on the road.

I’m hoping things went well for everyone on Sunday, and that everyone gets home safely.

What with travel today, I haven’t had much time to work on a new entry or complete the audio work to get Friday’s panel discussion or Saturday’s guest of honor talk audio files posted. I’m hoping to work on that tomorrow.

I have added more photos from Saturday’s activities (click the link above to see them). My plan is to look through the more than 150 photos I took during Pulpcon and add more over the next few days. Then take some time to debrief on my thoughts about this year’s con. So please check back throughout this week for our Pulpcon wrapup.

Oh, if you just got back from Pulpcon and care to add comments to the reports, please do! Or if you didn’t make it this year and want to comment on something, do that, too!

  • Hi, Greg,

Glad to do it. It was my first PulpCon and it went by in a whirlwind. In the past, I was always eager to read someone’s PulpCon report on alt.pulp or the Flearun, so I thought a daily report would be of some interest.

    Pleased that you enjoyed it.

  • This was my first Pulpcon, all due to your blog. I found it by accident while looking up pulp material, as I just finished a pulp/adventure/comic novel about the pulps (it’s in my agent’s hands right now, and I am stressing out).

Since the con started the year that I started reading the pulps (Princess of Mars, Science Fiction Book Club, CLASSIC frazetta cover), I figured it was time to hit the road and see what I was missing. Glad I did. The radio show was fun, the dealers room too tempting, and I got to speak briefly with a few congoers. Two regrets though: I didn’t know there was a con suite, because I would have loved to sit and talk with all the pulpsters, if only for research; and I needed more money. A lot more money. MILLIONS. If I’d had enough cash, my library would be twice the size it is now. Shadow hardcovers from the ’30s, ERB in the original magazines… Wow!

Thanks for hosting the blog — maybe I’ll see you at Pulpcon 36 next year.
