Remembering Richard Matheson

Richard Matheson
Richard Matheson
I haven’t mentioned the death of Richard Matheson on Yellowed Perils, though I did tweet about it when I heard the news earlier in the week.

Though primarily known for his novels, including “I Am Legend,” and his film and TV scripts (“The Pit and the Pendulum” and “Twilight Zone”), Matheson, who was 87, had his first story, “Born of Man and Woman,” published in the digest The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. His work also appeared in (among others) Galaxy, Imagination, Marvel Science Stories, Startling Stories and Weird Tales.

But let me refer you to Terence Towles Canote, who has an excellent remembrance of Matheson on his blog, A Shroud of Thoughts.
