Live coverage from PulpFest 2017

PulpFest 2017In just over a week, PulpFest 2017 will be getting underway near Pittsburgh, Pa. I plan on being there, and I hope that you will be there, too.

The past few years I have posted a brief report from PulpFest each day. I’m changing my plan for this year’s coverage.

I’ve struggled to get the daily posts written and uploaded in a timely fashion, from lack of time to lack of internet connection. In addition, PulpFest is being held at a new venue this year, so I’m uncertain how things will go. Since I’m on the PulpFest organizing committee, there may be unexpected things that end up consuming my time.

So rather than a daily written report, I’m planning a daily report that will be photos and short captions.

The daily posts will be a feed from ThePulp.Net’s Instagram account, so images will be added to the posts throughout the day. As you check a post throughout the day, more and more images should be appearing, with the newer photos at the top of the gallery.

I plan on writing a full report shortly after I return from the convention. I will start my annual roundup of PulpFest reports as soon as other reports begin appearing online.

Blue Coal ink blotter for 'The Shadow' radio programAlso, I will again be recording much of the pulp-related programming at PulpFest 2017. As I get those recordings edited, I will be adding them to the Pulp Event Podcast, which you can find here at ThePulp.Net, or in iTunes or Google Play.

Please stop by my table in the PulpFest dealers’ room to say hello. I’ll have a handful of duplicate pulp fanzines, and Pulp Life vinyl stickers for sale. John Olsen, who writes our That’s Pulp! blog, is sending along reproductions of a Blue Coal ink blotter promoting The Shadow radio program (above); they will be available at my table, too.

See you next week at PulpFest 2017!
